Digital Thermometer

I made this thermometer. The video pretty much explains it all. :]

Later on, I replaced the thermistor with a packaged temp sensor from microchip. It was one that just outputs an analog voltage proportional to the temperature. Using this, I could use the same circuitry with more accurate results, and a less complicated algorithm.

  1. can u please upload the source code and the schematic diagram for this ?

can i use a picaxe 28 X or 40 X for this and program is using basic ?

or do i have to use a high level language to program it such as C ?

  2. What type of thermistor did you use? Where do you get these things from. I’m just learning about them and its needle in a haystack with google.

  3. Hey Matt i’m new to this whole electronics thing. I would like to make the exact same digital thermometer you made. If its not to much trouble could u provide me with a parts list and any other data i might need. i would greatly appreciate it. thank you.

  4. I am developing a tool to simulate thermistors, mainly for the hvac industrie… I would like to pick your brain a little i have gotten the simulation part down but I would also like to make this tool more functional… if you are interested my e-mail add is redskinsfan1973@yahoo.com

  5. hi,

I am trying to do a similar projects but with transistors measuring the light in a dark room. However, I am really bad with programming in C. Could you please send me or publish your C code so that I can see the idea and logic behind. Did you set up some special features for the analogue-digital converter?
thnks a lot, would appreciate a lot if you share your code with me.

  6. dear sir ,
i am from Pakistan where no digital thermostat is available,i want to make an incubator for which i need a digital thermostat, please give me the list of parts and circuit diagram
actually in Pakistan no trusted site deliver its products such as (ebay, amazone)
that is the reason i am making it myself, If it is not possible please give me another way from which i can maintain temperature on 98F or 36C
    thanks
